KSS were appointed by Leeds United Football Club to expand the Elland Road Stadium to a capacity of 53,000. The KSS design proposals include revitalising the West and North Stands. The upgrades will enhance the Elland Road experience and facilities for all fans, helping to address the overwhelming demand for season tickets, which have a waiting list of 26,000.
The architectural design seamlessly blends the timeless traditions of a 4-stand stadium with a modern, sophisticated aesthetic. This evolution of Elland Road enhances its iconic atmosphere while subtly showcasing its impressive scale and volumes. The result is a stadium that exudes understated elegance and contemporary charm, inviting fans to experience the magic of football in a setting that feels both familiar and inspiring.
We delivered the design to RIBA Stage 3, ensuring every detail reflects the Club’s ambition and the fans’ passion. This achievement is a testament to our commitment to excellence in sports architecture and our ability to deliver transformative projects that resonate with communities.
The design has been warmly received by Leeds United, Leeds City Council and most importantly, the supporters, many of whom recognise that this scheme will redefine the stadium experience for generations to come.
We work across a diverse range of projects and take pride in consistently delivering results through strong collaboration, learning from one another and providing support to achieve the best outcomes.
